Wedding TransportEveryone wants to arrive at their wedding in style, and whether it a horse drawn carriage, a stretched limousine, or an open top Rolls Royce, there's a chance you'll be left out of pocket if the private hire firm can't deliver the car they promised and don't have a suitable alternative.
Wedding car insurance is part of our Wedding and Honeymoon Insurance.
Traditionally Wedding Cars are large luxurious limousines but anything stylish, such as a vintage vehicle, would be worth considering. With older vehicles then consider its reliability. If you are using a friend's vehicle then make sure someone can provide a backup. If you are using a hire firm, ask them what contingency plans are in place of one vehicle breaks down.
Will the car be bigger enough to accommodate your wedding dress?
Decorations: Will you or the firm be decorating the car with ribbons and flowers? Will they be in your colour scheme? Make sure that they are secure and wont be impeded the driver or other road users.
Driver: What will the driver wear?
Breakdowns: Are there plans in the event of a breakdown or accident?
Wet Weather: Is there an umbrella in the car? Matching Colour? In an open top car, what if it rains?
Size: Is the interior big enough for you with your wedding dress and the person giving you away?
Getting to your Wedding - The BrideYour bridesmaids will be the first to leave for the ceremony and whilst you may not have any special transport laid on for them it is worth making sure their car or cars is suitable and the driver knows where to go! You, as the bride, will only need to arrive a few minutes before the ceremony is due to start. Your wedding car driver will have checked out the route well before the event, and again on the day to ensure there aren't any roadworks or road closures, etc.
It will be the best man's job to get you as the Groom to wedding venue. This does not normally require the use of a special car and the journey is normally made in the best man's vehicle or a taxi. Plan to be there at least half an hour before the ceremony.
