• What does wedding insurance cover us for?
  WeddingCover.ie insures for traditional services associated with celebrating your wedding including the wedding and reception venues, professional photography or video services, floral arrangements, hired cars or other transport, wedding accommodation, wedding gifts, wedding rings, wedding cake and catering, and the wedding dress and other ceremonial attire. It also covers you for your honeymoon whether it be in the Republic of Ireland or overseas.
   

Who is the Insurance Company?
Your insurance is with White Horse Insurance Ireland Limited, part of the Thomas Cook group of companies, who are based in Dublin. Claims are handled by their own claims team based in Shannon.

• Why is your Wedding Insurance so cheap?
  We are specialists in provide low cost travel insurance and have been able to negotiate with the underwriters a special rate for wedding insurance too. Our policies are purchased on-line though unlike some online companies you can always call us if you are unsure of anything. The insurance is underwritten by White Horse Insurance Ireland who are part of the Thomas Cook group.

• I am not having a honeymoon, sill I still be insured for my wedding?
  Yes, although the price of a honeymoon is built into the insurance the price is still cheaper than many which don't include this. It does mean however that whether you are planning to spend just a single night at a hotel after the ceremony, spend a fortnight away overseas, or not, you will still be insured for you wedding.

• What happens if we have to postpone our wedding?
  If you are unfortunate to have to cancel your wedding because of illness to either of the wedding partners, or a close member of the family, you will be insured for costs and rearrangement. You will also be insured if the wedding or reception venue is closed by local authorities, the loss or destruction of wedding attire, etc..
   
• Who provides the insurance?
  This insurance is underwritten by White Horse Insurance Ireland Limited in Dublin. White Horse are part of the Thomas Cook group of companies. All claims are handled in Shannon.
   
• We will be going away for more than one trip. Can we insure ourselves for these trips too?
  By default your quote is priced for a single trip to cover your honeymoon, but this can be upgraded to cover you on a multiple trip basis. This Annual Travel Insurance will cover you for an unlimited number of trips in a twelve month period starting from the insurance commencement date.
   
• Our honeymoon is not until a few weeks after the wedding. Will we still be insured?
  Yes, the honeymoon can start within 31 days of the wedding date.
   
• Do you insure same sex couples?
  Yes, under Civil Partnership Registration
   
• Our honeymoon flight leaves from the UK, will this be insured?
  Yes, provided this is part of the same journey which started in the Republic of Ireland.
   
• Does the reception need to be on the same day as the wedding?
  No, but it would need to be within 24 hours.
   
• One of us are in the armed forces. will we still be insured?

This policy will cover you if you have to cancel the wedding because of the unforeseen posting oversees as a member of the Irish armed forces.
